We are designing the RealDoll X AI App system to be fun and engaging, more than focusing on whether it can fool you into thinking it’s a human being. Our dolls can increase openness to social connectivity, preventing social isolation and loneliness. Our efforts point to a future where robots will fulfil an intimate role in the lives of the elderly, the socially impaired, the lonely and the broken-hearted. While some are captivated by the sex-capable nature of these dolls, we also foresee them being used as Robotic Attendants, nurses, and companions for the elderly and people with poor social skills. These RealDolls are anatomically correct, which means you can explore a deeper relationship with them. An always present friend with whom you can talk and interact with. We envision our dolls primarily to serve as human companions. It will appeal to people who, for one reason or another, don’t have, or don’t desire a “traditional” relationship with another person, and can give them something to look forward to when they get home. Our goal is to create a persistent experience or simulation that your AI-driven RealDoll cares about you and who you are. It is our thinking that if one feels loved, then one must be loved, deeply and genuinely. We hope that we can at least simulate that. As more people use it, better the dialogue will become!
